Dr. Richard B. Johnson, Jr.
Ph.D., M.D., F.A.C.P.
Dr. Johnson received his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Austin College in 1967 and earned a Ph.D. in biochemistry at Columbia University in 1972. After completing post-doctoral research in virology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he obtained his M.D. from the University of Texas, Houston in 1978.
He served in the US Navy where he completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine and became Board Certified. In 1985 he entered private practice.
In 1990 Dr. Johnson studied geriatric medicine and obtained added qualifications in geriatric medicine to his Board Certification in Internal Medicine. In 2001, he was recognized as a Clinical Specialist in Hypertension by the American Society of Hypertension.
Dr. Johnson was a senior partner at the Diagnostic Clinic of Houston from 1993 to 2006. He then relocated his practice to Kerrville, Texas where he practices Internal Medicine. In 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015, he was selected as the best physician by the readers of the Kerrville Daily Times.
